Innovative approach to web search builds on the power of existing search services
-
Advanced technology lets users rely on their favorite search engine, yet also have quick access to results from other search engines.
Princeton, NJ - Nov. 7, 2006 - Zuula LLC today made available to the general public the beta version of
its namesake Internet service, Zuula (
www.zuula.com).
Zuula is an innovative new search service that gives users more search options without forcing them to
give up their current preferred search engines.
Users of Zuula can carry out most of their searches using their current favorite search service,
such as Google, Yahoo, or one of the newer search services, such as Gigablast. Once Zuula knows which
search engine a user prefers, it displays results from that service by default whenever the user carries
out a search at Zuula.
Zuula's advanced technology comes into play, however, in those cases where a user also wants to check
search results at search engines other than their favorite. In those cases, Zuula makes it a snap to get
and view the results from a wide range of other search engines.
"The ability to quickly display and switch between search results from a wide range of search engines
is what makes Zuula unique," said Tim Hunt, President of Zuula LLC. "We make it easy for users to rely
on their favorite search engine, yet also have quick and easy access to results from other search
engines."
Dr. Hunt went on to explain that being able to search the Internet with several search engines is much
more necessary than most people realize. "There are over 100,000,000 websites on the Internet today.
Using more than one search engine, you can substantially increase the chance you'll find the information
you want among those millions of pages. Yet, without Zuula, checking the results from multiple search
engines can be tedious and time consuming."*
Zuula is easy to use and requires no special software. Users just point their browser to
www.zuula.com
and start searching - exactly like they would with any other leading search service. Displaying the
results from a specific search engine is as simple as clicking on a tab with the search engine's name
on it.
In addition, Zuula offers a total of five different types of Internet search - web, image, news, blog,
and jobs - with results from 14 of the world's leading search results providers. And Zuula leverages
the latest in "drag-and-drop" website technology to make it easy for users to specify their favorite
search engine for each different type of search. If, for example, a user wants to make Topix.net
their preferred news search engine, all they have to do is move the Topix.net tab so that it is in
front of all other news search service tabs.
"Customizability is one of Zuula's key strengths," said Boris Simkovich, Zuula's Chief Executive Officer.
"We recognize that search companies such as Google have developed powerful technologies which have
significantly improved the quality of search results. At the same time, we believe users want a more
open approach to selecting their preferred search engines, and Zuula provides that openness."
Users of the Zuula service are likely to see more features and more capabilities in the not-too-distant
future. "Additional search types and search providers are a key priority," says Dr. Hunt, the firm's
president. "At the same time, we're investing substantial time and effort developing features to make
Internet search easier and quicker." One example of such a feature is Zuula's search history option,
which Zuula users can explore on every Zuula search result page.
